This Comptemporary country garden in Buckinghamshire was created to accommodate the family’s love of outdoor living and to make the most of the garden’s location within the surrounding countryside.

Steps were built to allow access to the garden from the terrace.

Bringing colour to the garden throughout the year was very important to the client and this was achieved by combining flowering shrubs, perennials and grasses.

In these pictures this autumn flowering display has been created within the first year of planting.

To create more interest within the garden an earth mound was created, this was then planted with a combination of flowering shrubs and perennials

At the back of the earth mound where the planting finished the wild grass was left to grow long so that it created a foil for the mown grass and also provided a habitat for wildlife.

From the rear of the garden the island bed, fruit trees, re-built well, earth mound, children’s play area and extensive planting can be seen.

Within this part of the garden is a circle of mown grass, the long grass combined with the island bed act as a border for the lawn and therefore defines its shape, within this area is a large table and chairs.

A wattle hurdle fence screens the compost, shed and burning area.
