Family Garden

This Hertfordshire family garden has been designed to provide separate but inter-related areas for outdoor eating, entertaining and children’s play.

The bench on the granite sett paving commands excellent views down the garden.

Between the house and the raised beds, the two areas of York stone paving linked by a stone path are used for outdoor eating and entertaining. Scented planting was introduced to bring Summer interest and colour into this area.

The middle section of the garden, which is used for children’s play, is reached via two flights of steps that pass between raised beds formed by dry-stone walling.

At the top of the garden a bark path winds past naturalised bluebells to a small shed and a child’s play house.
